We’re now looking for a Sous Chef to join our NEW kitchen team ahead of the launch of our new fire-led, sensory dining experience that captures the wild beauty of Tasmania’s East Coast and the cool-climate elegance of Devil’s Corner wines.



Description

About the Role: Reporting to the Head Chef, this role is responsible for assisting the Head Chef in delivering best in class dining and food experiences to all visitors to the Devil’s Corner site.

This role contributes to more than just a food offering, it’s contributing to a new chapter for Devil’s Corner that we want you to be part of.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • In consultation with the Head Chef, plan and execute menus.
  • Ensure the quality of kitchen service and monitor kitchen safety, hygiene and sanitation.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of both high productivity and good staff morale.
  • Training, supervising and motivating the team to deliver quality food and dining experiences.
  • Assist the Head Chef with purchasing and stock control.


Skills And Experiences

About you: You’re a qualified sous chef with experience in a commercial kitchen or equivalent. You stop at nothing to always ensure consistency in food standards and presentation. You thrive on providing a unique culinary experience to all guests leaving them with a memorable experience. You may have knowledge of regional produce and food networks, but overall you want to be part of this exciting new chapter for Devil’s corner.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef partnering with a Head Chef to plan and deliver menu’s.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams in a kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for food, wine and tourism.
  • A can-do attitude, flexibility, and attention to detail.
  • Driver’s Licence.
