The Opportunity
Are you a culinary leader with a passion for creating delicious meals and a knack for efficient kitchen operations? Harvey Beef is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Cook to lead our canteen team in Harvey!
In this dynamic role, you'll be the heart of our canteen, responsible for day-to-day operations and supervising our fantastic team. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional food and service.
About the Role
As our Senior Cook, you'll be instrumental in:
Planning and preparing delicious meals for both day and afternoon shifts, including Saturdays, and pricing menu items strategically.
Showcasing your butchery skills by preparing wholesale meat for recipes.
Managing special catering requests and coordinating staff events.
Operating all kitchen equipment with expertise, from deep fryers to grills.
Maintaining an impeccably clean kitchen with a "clean-as-you-go" approach.
Optimizing inventory, reducing waste, and managing stock orders from our trusted suppliers.
Providing excellent front-of-house customer service and coordinating seamlessly with management.
Supervising and training canteen staff to ensure a smooth and effective operation.
Upholding the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP compliance.

You'll have solid experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and a strong background in implementing food safety and hygiene practices. Previous supervisory experience in a food environment is highly desirable.
A natural leader who enjoys training and guiding a team to success.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with staff and management.
You're a master of managing your time and food production in a busy setting.
A commitment to maintaining high Occupational Safety and Health performance and compliance with safety management systems.
