Chef Manager | Prairiewood | Full Time

We’re seeking an experienced Chef Manager to oversee kitchen operations at Hammondcare Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood, leading a small team and delivering high-quality meal service.

About the opportunity
This full-time role offers a consistent Monday to Friday roster in a well-established kitchen. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations, supporting staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. With no weekend or night shifts, this is an ideal position for a skilled leader seeking stability, purpose, and work-life balance.

The Role:

Cater Care Australia seeks to appoint a Chef Manager at our aged care residence in Prairiewood

Organising day-to-day operations; this is the ideal role for someone who wants to provide a fantastic meal experience to our residents and values a well-run kitchen.

What This Role Involves:

• Dual responsibilities in food preparation / presentation and site management
• Overall cost management with a focus on food and labour costs
• Stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking 
• Adherence to food hygiene & safety practices
• Demonstrable team management, development & leadership
• Assisting the broader team as required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate 
• Experience with managing labour, food & operational costs 
• Previous experience in operating kitchens and/or site management
• Strong communication skills
• Pride in personal appearance & hygiene
