Your Opportunity

Full Time | Warriewood (38 hours per week)

Must be available: Saturdays, Thursday night and 3 other week days.

As Head Chef, you’ll lead the café and village catering operations, ensuring food quality, service consistency and efficient kitchen management.

You’ll play a key role in shaping menus, leading a small team and delivering an experience where meals are more than food — they are moments of connection for residents and guests.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys ownership, thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated by delivering consistent, high‑quality outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead kitchen operations across café and village catering services

  • Manage ordering, stock control and supplier relationships

  • Plan menus and develop weekly specials aligned to resident preferences

  • Supervise and support one casual chef and kitchen staff

  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation and service standards

  • Monitor costs, minimise waste and manage kitchen budgets

  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and compliance (HACCP & WHS)

  • Contribute to a positive, team‑focused kitchen culture

What You’ll Bring

You’re a capable and people‑focused Head Chef who combines strong kitchen leadership with a genuine commitment to service.

You know how to balance quality, cost and efficiency while creating a welcoming environment for both residents and team members.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership role

  • Strong skills in stock control, ordering and cost management

  • Experience planning menus and delivering consistent food offerings

  • Confidence leading and developing small teams

  • Sound knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety and compliance

  • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and Thursday nights

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

Ideally, you’ll also bring:

  • Experience in aged care, retirement living or café environments

  • An understanding of service environments where customer experience is key

  • A passion for creating food experiences that bring people together
