Your Opportunity
Full Time | Warriewood (38 hours per week)
Must be available: Saturdays, Thursday night and 3 other week days.
As Head Chef, you’ll lead the café and village catering operations, ensuring food quality, service consistency and efficient kitchen management.
You’ll play a key role in shaping menus, leading a small team and delivering an experience where meals are more than food — they are moments of connection for residents and guests.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys ownership, thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated by delivering consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Lead kitchen operations across café and village catering services
Manage ordering, stock control and supplier relationships
Plan menus and develop weekly specials aligned to resident preferences
Supervise and support one casual chef and kitchen staff
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation and service standards
Monitor costs, minimise waste and manage kitchen budgets
Maintain food safety, hygiene and compliance (HACCP & WHS)
Contribute to a positive, team‑focused kitchen culture
What You’ll Bring
You’re a capable and people‑focused Head Chef who combines strong kitchen leadership with a genuine commitment to service.
You know how to balance quality, cost and efficiency while creating a welcoming environment for both residents and team members.
You’ll bring:
Experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership role
Strong skills in stock control, ordering and cost management
Experience planning menus and delivering consistent food offerings
Confidence leading and developing small teams
Sound knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety and compliance
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and Thursday nights
Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Ideally, you’ll also bring:
Experience in aged care, retirement living or café environments
An understanding of service environments where customer experience is key
A passion for creating food experiences that bring people together
