About the role

This position is responsible for planning and implementing a nutritional menu for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age within the Early Learning Centre.  

You will be expected to implement a nutritious menu that caters for all dietary requirements of the children.  You will also be expected to maintain a hygienic kitchen and maintain all documentation in line with the statutory requirements.    

In addition to this you will also be completing below duties:

  • Display the weekly menu for parents to view. 
  • Attend staff meetings and staff development sessions outside normal working hours as required. 
  • Plan a rotational menu within budget requirements. 
  • Prepare all meals and snacks. 

 

About You

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous experience planning and implementing a nutritional menu for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age within an Early Learning Centre
  • Certificate in Food Handling, Nutrition and Menu Planning.
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Sound knowledge and experience in food preparation, nutritional standards, menu preparation, food hygiene practices & kitchen management.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a set budget.
  • First Aid Certificate (HLTAID0012)
  • Working With Children Check Clearance Number

We are offering a 22.5 hour permanent part time opportunity, with an attractive remuneration from $73,172 to $80,554 (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
