Join our team at ANZAC Village in Narrabeen, home to over 400 residents, where you'll oversee food services across four residential care homes, all based from a modern central production kitchen. Responsibilities of this role would be, but not limited to:
Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll lead a committed kitchen team in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and resident-focused meals.
Oversee the day-to-day supervision of employees regarding all aspects of the current food operation
Demonstrating strong leadership and creating and sustaining a high-performing team.
Preparation, planning, and cooking of various meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
Complying with all infection control protocols and safe food handling procedures
Ensuring all meals are prepared whilst keeping resident choices, allergies, and recommendations in mind
Supporting WHS and infection control practices
Work collaboratively with the care, clinical, and lifestyle teams
Ensuring regular audits are being performed and recorded monthly
Maintain food costs within budgetary guidelines
Maintain ordering systems and supervise ordering for all sections in the main kitchen including textured and special diet sections
Engage with residents on a regular basis ensuring their feedback is listened to and considered
Skills and Experience required:
Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
Experience managing kitchen operations and leading teams
Knowledge of special dietary needs and aged care food standards
Ability to plan and implement catering services, ensuring a holistic approach and having regard for the resident
Creativity in menu planning and recipe management tools
A team mindset, compassion, and a can-do attitude
Aged care experience is desirable but not essential
Demonstrated understanding of quality control in food preparation and delivery within an aged care setting
Australian Working Rights
It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
