About the Opportunity

As the Chef Manager, you will be responsible to lead and manage the facilities dietary and catering function, ensuring a safe, high quality food service is delivered in compliance with legislative requirements, and in line with the Lifestyle approach.

 The position is permanent, full time with a minimum of 38 hours a week with a base salary range (per our Enterprise Agreement) of $76,515 depending on experience + superannuation + salary packaging benefits! 

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be mainly responsible for:

  • Manage all compliance aspects of food preparation, cooking, presentation and serving of palatable and nutritious meals and mid-meals
  • Maintaining regular cleaning of all areas within the kitchen and kitchenettes as per schedule and Food Safety Plan 
  • Assist Senior Management with the budgeting for food and labour costs ensuring budget is achieved for hotel services
  • Manage the ordering, delivery, stock control and food storage process for hotel services
  • Communicate with customers on a regular basis to ensure that catering services meet their needs, issues are addressed in a timely manner and formal comments are dealt with professionally and efficiently
  • Provide leadership and supervision of the day-to-day activities of the cook team

About You

To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Qualifications: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or other relevant discipline or possess the equivalent knowledge, skills and experience deemed to be the equivalent by Bolton Clarke
  •  Demonstrated experience in commercial catering or other food services for the Aged in either a nursing home or hospital practice setting
  • Demonstrated minimum 1-year relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of State Food Safe Regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in positive staff motivation and enhancement team performance
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Professional presentation
  • Current Seasonal Flu Vaccination and COVID Vaccination (Mandatory)
